Special Knoxville Chapter Meeting, Movie Viewing
Oct 1st, 2007 by UCW-CWA
Union Sisters and Brothers,
The Knoxville Chapter of UCW-CWA will have a regularly scheduled chapter meeting tomorrow evening. Although this meeting is on the regular date we are doing things a little different this time.
The meeting will take place starting at 5:30pm in the Upstairs Conference Room of the Black Cultural Center (located on Melrose Ave. right across from Hess Hall). We will continue our work to prepare for next year’s raise campaign and finalizing planning for our upcoming fall picnic later this month.
The meeting should last right at 1 hour, and the union will be serving pizza.
After the meeting a group of UCW-CWA members are planning to attend “The Uprising of ‘34,” shown as part of the “Working for Democracy in the South and Appalachia: Highlander Research and Education Center” Documentaries in the Library series. We will watch the movies and participate in the disccussion lead by Anne Mayhew Professor Emerita at the University of Tennessee. The film begins at 7pm.
Hope to see many of you there!
-Tom Smith, UCW-CWA President
