We want all UCW members to be effective organization builders. Our 2-part Organizing Basics series will help you and your coworkers hit the ground running to grow your local.

***When registering for trainings, please be mindful of the time zone***

Part 1: Organizing Conversation Training - how do you move someone from believing unionizing is illegal, to saying yes to join? We'll cover this common dilemma and prepare you to talk about your organizing in your own words.

  • Tuesday, April 19, 6CST/7EST. Register here:

Part 2: Workplace Mapping and Leadership Identification - How do you increase  union density in your workplace? How can you tell who's a leader, and who's taking you for a ride? We'll share methods to answer these and other questions, and conclude with starting a workplace map for your organizing.

NEW: Advanced Organizing Conversation Training Have you taken Part 1 & Part 2 of our training series, and ready to level up? Deepen your skills with other UCW members and go deep on your pitch. We invite organizers to come back to this training each month and dive into a new topic - we'll start with overcoming objections.

NEW: Campaigns 101: How to Start (and Win!) a Campaign on Your Campus - Everyone has something they want to change on campus. Higher pay. Better health care. Paid family leave. As UCW members, you know these changes won't come unless you organize and fight to change them. Campaigns are how we win change AND build power. Come learn the nuts and bolts of picking an issue and a demand, figuring out who the decision maker in power is, and planning out tactics and strategy. We'll look at successful campaigns that UCW members have led and see how they got it done.

NEW: Action Builder Training - Are you organizing your department and need a list, yesterday? Do you have a bunch of assessments but no idea where to put them? Join this training and learn how you can build your union's organizing database. We'll cover entering assessments, building queries and lists, and more. This is an essential training for any serious UCW organizer! Data is one of the most important assets you and your coworkers have.
