Training Opportunities
Fall 2026 Regional Public Training Series
UCW 101: Organizing Basics - Our union is uniting campus workers across the South to build power and win change. Corporate attacks on worker rights, fair pay, free speech, science funding, and more are on the rise. Now more than ever, students and workers need to come together across their differences to build a labor organization that can effectively fight for their shared interests.
In this 75 minute training, we will review and discuss some of the fundamentals that guide our United Campus Workers organizing strategy, and leave with next steps for applying these fundamentals on their campus and in their workplace. Any and all United Campus Workers members are encouraged to attend.

UCW 102: Workshopping Tough Convos - In order to build power and win change as a union, we need to act collectively with our coworkers around widely shared and deeply felt concerns. This is often easier said than done! Decades of attacks on working people have left us confused, fearful, hopeless, and divided. Many of our coworkers have no practical experience standing with others in a united way as a class. They are confused and fearful about what a union is and they are skeptical that another way of doing things is possible.
In this training, we will workshop together how to deal with the disempowering emotions and thoughts we confront when we organize. What obstacles are getting in the way of your work on your campus? What frameworks or tools are available to better address these obstacles in the future? We will discuss all this and more in this 75 minute training. All United Campus Workers who have attended our 101 training are welcome to attend.- Wednesday, November 11th, 2026

It is recommended that you’ve gone through conversation training. Please note that this is specifically about organizing committees and will not focus on campaign teams.
