University of Memphis Living Wage Campaign

Over three-hundred members of the United Campus Workers at University of Memphis have been engaged in a Living Wage campaign for over seven years. In 2019 the campaign won a commitment from president David Rudd to raise base pay to $15/hour over two years.

The UCW Memphis chapter celebrates this victory but also maintains that two years is too long, continuing to push for $15/hr now. Over the last year member researchers helped design an infographic for the campaign and from there worked on a framework to document pay inequities for workers across campus. Work continues, but below we've shared the $15 infographic and descriptive analysis on pay inequity used in the campaign.
